Away from our eyes and the nice public beaches of Singapore, the marine and coastal wildlife of this small island is suffocating under tons of trash brought in every day by the tides.
The volunteering programmes aim to remove trash and collect data on the debris from shorelines, waterways and beaches.
The information collected serves to educate the public on marine debris issues and to encourage positive change.
Early in the morning, with the clean-up effort, Sopra Steria participated in the Let’s clean the beach program that organised by the French Chamber of Singapore.
Our employees volunteer to do our part in saving the marine and coastal wildlife program in Singapore and contribute to local environmental protection efforts.
By volunteering ourselves, also show our common determination to act as responsible corporate citizens in our host country.
Overall, this program involved 400 people from 40 companies collected a total of ~2.1 tonnes (2,100kg) of marine trash at Clean The Beach CSR Day 2018, a great turn-out for a Monday morning in an extremely busy business period! Let’s continue to work towards a clean environment together!
